The urgent humanitarian needs are answered.

Action For Development has created access to potable water for 21,000 people in Salamago and Dasenech Woredas of the South Omo Zone, South Ethiopia Region.The intervention, which was implemented in partnership with Christian Aid, is aimed at availing emergency water supply for the drought-affected communities in the two Woredas. Vulnerable communities in both Woredas were highly affected by the lack of water. Moreover, water-borne diseases were very common throughout the woredas.

 As a result of the implemented water development activities, they now have access to clean and adequate water near their homes, which they use for consumption and domestic purposes. This is witnessed to have contributed to the reduction of water-borne diseases, the alleviation of the drudgery of fetching water. It has, moreover, contributed to their rightto safe and adequate water.

አክሽን ፎር ዴቨሎፕመንት በደቡብ ኢትዮጲያ ክልል በደቡብ ኦሞ ዞን የዳሰነች እና ሳላማጎ ወረዳዎች ለሚገኙ ከ12ሺ በላይ ነዋሪዎች የንጹህ መጠጥ ዉሀ እንዲያገኙ አስችሏል፡፡ ከክርስቲያን ኤይድ ጋር በመተባበር የተተገበረዉ ይህ ፕሮጀክት በሁለቱ ወረዳዎች ዉስጥ በድርቅ ለተጎዱ ነዋሪዎች የአደጋ ጊዜ ዉሀ አቅርቦት ተደራሽ ለማድረግ ያለመ ነዉ፡፡ በሁለቱ ወረዳዎች ዉስጥ የሚገኙ ተጋላጭ የማህበረሰብ ክፍሎች ከፍተኛ የዉሀ እጥረት የነበረባቸዉና ለዉሀ ወለድ በሽታዎች የሰፋ ተጋላጭነት የነበራቸዉ ናቸዉ፡፡

 በፕሮጀክቱ በተተገበረዉ የምንጭ ዉሀ ማጎልበት ስራ ማህበረሰቡ ለቤት ዉስጥ ግልጋሎቶች ንጹህ እና በቂ ዉሀን ለመኖሪያዉ በቀረበ ሁኔታ አጊንቷል፡፡ይህ የዉሀ ፕሮጀክት የዉሀ ወለድ በሽታዎች እንዲቀንሱ እና ዉሀ ለመቅዳት ረጅም መንገድ በመጓዝ ዉስጥ ያለዉን እንግልት ማቅለል ችሏል፡፡ ከዚህም ባለፈ የማህበረሰቡን ንጹህ እና በቂ ዉሀ የማግኘት መብት እንዲጠበቅ የላቀ አስተዋፅኦ አድርጓል፡፡
